The answer to how Jess and I became friends isn’t an easy one… or a short one. The best solution to tell this epic tale? Clearly: start recording. Jess and I begin talking and don’t stop until an hour later. Welcome to Benanda Podcast #1!
Prefacing Benanda Podcast #1
First thing: it’s a first
The first thing to know about this recording is that it’s a first. Firsts are always messy. But, from what I’ve learned in the past, the best thing to do is to document things and post them. Good things have to start somewhere!
The second thing: I was TIRED.
Jess is currently in Ireland, which is 5 hours ahead of Eastern Standard Time. This means that each time we tried to record prior to this, once I was ready to start recording by 6 PM, it was already 11 PM her time. After two tries during the week with Jess being too tired to think by 11 PM her time, we tried something different. I woke up at 5 AM on a Saturday to record this podcast, just to make it finally happen. The problem with this is that I wasn’t able to get to sleep until around 1 AM. That’s four hours of sleep and my body definitely needed more.
So, if you’re wondering why I seem so tired during the recording session -especially at the beginning- now you know!
The final thing to know
The third thing: I haven’t figured out how to “actually host” this podcast via my website just yet. I’ll edit this once I figure that out. For now, I’ll just post it on the YouTubes. Luckily, not that many people will be seeing these posts anyway! I think of this as a plus actually, because it gives me time to improve on things as I go forward without the stress of “having to put out amazing content” all the time. Instead, I’m a newb and will totally embrace that!
On with the podcast!
